January Give Away!

January is going to be a busy month for me while I prepare for CHA.

I hope to create new projects in my spare time :o) and maybe even scrap a little, but it might be quiet around here. I'll try to post at least once a week.

MEANWHILE....................... I love to give stuff away! It's great for my Karma.

I haven't decided if it will be another random drawing, or given to someone who's layout/project knocks my socks off! But, someone will win ALL EIGHT (8) Frances Meyer kits that include 12x12 papers and 1 sheet (8.5 x 11) chipboard shapes pictured. Quality cardstock and papers in fabulously delicious and trendy colors and patterns.

The drawing will be held on Jan 25th, to be shipped on 26th, as I will be flying to CHA on Jan 27th.

Old Fashioned Gaming Fun!

CREATED WITH JEANINE'S ELEANOR KIT!

Wood game blank painted w/ acrylic lt. green paint then decoupaged with papers printed from the Eleanor kit. There is a carved spacer between each section. The outer edge is embellished with Spellbinders embossed die cuts (flourishes) from an Eleanor kit paper; inked with green. The entire project is sealed with glossy clear coat (Krylon). Game pieces are really old poker chips in cream/bone and slate. I say "really old" because they look antique but I'm not sure, got a box at a thrift store not too long ago! SCORE!

TIP: when decoupaging, sometimes tragedy occurs and your paper may get smudged, peel or stick to the table and peel (voice of experience here!) A quick fixer up, instead of trying to remove all the adhesive and paper and start again.................. Tear a section of the same paper that is similar in shade and tone. Tear it "down" all the way around so that no white shows but the edges are "thinned" for easy patching! Decoupage the patch over your boo boo!

A White Christmas!!

Last night, before dinner we had a snowflake making session to decorate the windows :o) We lost a few this year because of our beloved feline, AND IT'S SO MUCH FUN! It snowed last night, about 3 inches.......... so these will definitely help make it a White Christmas.

CT: Hybrid layout and Tag Ornament

Two hybrid projects created with Jeanine DeOre's Twilight Snowfall bundle.

This kit has fabulous background papers, if you know me, you'll know I'm a paper addict.
I really enjoyed using the papers along with the tags and snowflake elements.




JOY LAYOUT: There is some silver embossed flourishes and some grunge around a photo matte, fabric flowers, some rhinestone brads, a large oval rhinestone, snowflake punches created from the rest of that digital "paint chip" near the center of the photos, chipboard letters in shiny silver. I cut out a large snowflake from one of the other background papers to accent the top left corner, silver ribbon (offray) on the right tag.

TAG ORNAMENT: I really liked the tags in this kit! I printed them oversized on 4x6 photo paper and layered two of them for the ornament with fabric flowers in white and red (to compliment her Patriots jersey!) layered and folded between the two tags, large vintage button has a loop in the back that worked great for the thin ribbon hanger accented with two punch holly leaves and the same chipboard alpha "R" for Ryan (she's my grandbaby#1).

An amazing surprise that I wanted to share! I won this beautiful canvas art created by Cheryl Darrow for the Annual Boobie Art Canvas Raffle at Ten Seconds Studio!

They raised $2140.00 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation! Woop Woop!

I collect and adore backyard birds and I have this proudly displayed in my dining room.

I'll post next year when the raffle is run again, I hope to be contributing a canvas of my own :o)
