Bird Ornament: Delight Clay

You know I LOVE backyard birds!

Here is my latest project for Creative Paper Clay, I used the Delight clay so it's very light and won't bend the tree branches.

See the instructions here:
on the Creative Paper Clay Blog.

I wished things hadn't been so hectic, I'd have loved to spend more time on the details of his feathers. But, I love the way it turned out, he's adorable!

Have a wonderful day!
Craft on!

My Halloween Costume

Happy Halloween!  My costume is finished!  You can see the instructions on the Creative Paper Clay Blog here:
Except the paper parts, details below.

Except the paper parts which I used a glossy cardstock by Murdock Country Creations (deep sea), an oldie but goodie.
1. Cut the paper into scalloped strips, sand the bottom edges and ink them with "Pool" by Adirondak (brights).
2. Cut a basic shape from a roll of brown paper and glue the strips, layering from bottom to top.  The tail fin shapes were hand cut.
3. Glue the tail to the belt and add the paper doll "tabs" to each side.
4. Print 2 large clam shells onto card stock, emboss with clear embossing powder.
5. Cut out the shells and add strings of Metallic Blue braided thread (Kreinik).

Happy Monday!

Creative Paper Clay-Lighted Party Decor

Happy Monday!

A re-purposed pickle jar is the star of this lovely table decor, a beautiful wedding table accent, or just a night light.

Creative Paper Clay-Cat Ornament

Happy Monday!

I'm getting an early start on Christmas ornaments this year!  Here is a Kitty I made from Creative Paper Clay. He's a cutie!

A few lessons learned working with clay. Drying time can be unpredictable, this guy took a week and a half to finally be ready for sanding.   Acrylic paint helps cover a few flaws :o)

Jump over to their blog for more details.
