Sakura: Fairy in the Forest Card with VivaLasVegasStamps!

Today, I'm combining all the fun of Sakura's 3d Crystal Lacquer with the gorgeous rubber stamp image by VivaLasVegasStamps!

--I chased my muse into the forest and there flew the butterfly fairies--

SAKURA SUPPLIES:
3d Color Crystal Lacquer: Red, Yellow, Ivory
3d Pearl and Metallic Crystal Lacquer: Lilac, Gold

Butterfly Lady Rubber Stamp
by VivaLasVegasStamps!

OTHER SUPPLIES:
Copper pigment ink, clear embossing powder, microbeads and glitter, fibers, deckle scissors and distress ink.
Palm Tree Border paper and Glitter Brown Paisley card stock by Robin's Nest

I was very happy to see that the Ivory 3D Color Crystal Lacquer made a perfect skin tone for my butterfly lady.

I stamped the image onto the Palm Tree Border paper with copper pigment ink and embossed with clear fine embossing powder. Then I cut it out, inked the edges and glued it to the background paper (Brown Glitter Paisley).

I applied Ivory first and let it set up for a few minutes and sprinkled micro beads and glitter to the body area. Then the Pearl and Metallic 3D Crystal Lacquer because it's a bit thicker. Finally I colored the rest of the areas with the translucent Color 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Add a touch of fibers and Viola!
I hope you enjoyed my little excursion, I needed a diversion away from the Holidays to a warmer, more serene place :o)

The Best Glue Ever!
, Perfect Crafting Pouch, Perfect Cleaning Cloth -ScraPerfect!

Romani Moonbeam paper by Basic Grey, fabric flowers, fine art glitter, Ice Stickles, clear rhinestone brads, white tulle

Directions:
I printed the fonts directly to the 12x12 background paper, then applied the Best Glue Ever! to the areas I wanted to add the tulle, let it dry. I made a knot in the center of the tulle and adhered to the tacky glue then sprinkled with iridescent art glitter and attached fabric flowers with clear rhinestone brads. "Forever" is accented with small dots of Ice Stickles.

Designer Crafts Blog Hop: Flip Pal Challenge/Computer Assisted

Link
Welcome to the Designer Crafts Connection Blog Hop! First, I'd like to apologize to my readers for the confusion of the hop this month. Normally, we post our hop with blog candy, challenges and other info on the first Monday of each month. However, we had some issues this month that delayed our posts and information to pass. But it's all here now! Read on for an exciting giveaway!

This week we are having the Flip-Pal Challenge! It's a little portable scanner that selected Designers will show different ways they have used the scanner. Some designers in this group will be showing projects and giving more details about the Flip Pal and how it can be used. HUGE GIVEAWAY! One Flip Pal will be given away to a reader of the blogs within our Designer Crafts Connection HOP group! GO HERE TO ENTER. Mark their site to return for the Winner Reveal to be announced.

And here is a coupon code if you don't win but feel this is a "must have" tool for your creativity.
coupon code: SSBH2011. for 10% off a Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner or Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner Creative Suite—with Craft edition DVD. This can be redeemed at our website at http://flip-pal.com. Valid until December 15th.

While I am not familiar with the Flip Pal, I can share that I'm a firm believer in "computer assisted" creating. Not necessarily "Hybrid" but when my PC is down, it challenges me for sure! Since I began teaching paper crafting techniques and scrapbook classes in 2000, my PC and printer have been very valuable tools in the process, from printed titles to "real scans" of textures in my home and yard, mementos, my art, & kids art. I've created paper piecing patterns of original art for reproduction for a class kit and I created a line of scrapbooking papers in 2003 which were scans of my original art and textures.

1. Woven strips of card stock machine sewn
2. Batik
3. cardstock, ribbon and hand embroidered daisies
4 basket reed woven flat and stained w/ walnut ink
5&6 Autumn Leaves and Ivy
7. Woven card stock sewn w/ metallic thread
8. bleached stamp images on batik
9. My daughter Jessica's favorite blanket on it's last leg preserved forever!
10. color blocked card stock with bleach stamped images.

2008: My Sunshine-printed title on layered paper background and transparency overlay

Computer assisted art is not restricted to flat surfaces.

2006: Domino Jewelry from clip art

2003: Decoupaged Paper Weight

2008: Mixed Media art- my photo, stampbord, clay, pigments, shells

2001: BTS-scanned ruler and pencils

2001: Dragon Slayers - My paper piecing pattern reproduced and printed on card stock for class

2000: Whiz Kid-printed computer, scanned mouse, real CD

I could load 11 years of projects onto this post!
The possibilities are ENDLESS, scanning helps you to create unique elements for your art that make it so much more personal, so much more YOU. So go ahead and scan that dog biscuit! (I did :o)
