Asian Moon

Inspired by Asian art and also compiled with a vintage Asian art piece that I found at a thrift store.

Peacock Feather Paint Pouring

Another fun paint pouring!

Here's a little inspiration:

Watch the video here:

I embellished this with a metal pendant blank and a "skin" of paint that ran off the canvas.

Birds Nest - Paint Pouring

Hello Crafty People!

Here's a fun paint pouring technique, I hope you'll give it a try!
I've been playing around with lots of different pouring techniques and also embellishing them creatively.

Here's Part 1:  The background with a dragging technique

 Here's Part 2:  The leaves

I hope you create something today that makes you smile.

Nature Finds A Way: with Perfect Paints

Being a part of the Perfect Paints design team is a blessing.  I created this project for the Team. It was a long process and an adventure in exploring textures and mediums.

See how I made it on the Perfect Paints Blog.

Be inspired.

BEGIN

I have procrastinated as I was trying to plan the "perfect" post to begin this New Year 2025. (Note, the date, it's January 18th, 2025) Through the roadblocks and the lessons, I decided to just "Begin".  I saw this mantra on social media and decided to embrace it. My last post was June 24, 2024, and I needed to get things moving. All I needed to do was "Begin".

Through the trials of the process, I learned that it (my art, my creative process, me) doesn't have to be perfect. This project was a playful test of watercolor painting and the supposed tools of that trade. Nothing went according to plan, but that's OK, because it's shimmery and pretty and finished. It's the first page in my new art journal.  I've gained knowledge and made progress. Progress: moved forward from where I was previously.

You can see the Journal here: Art Journal with Perfect Paints

I'll post more of my Perfect Paint projects soon. You can also find them on my Facebook Page: BCDesigns.

Here's a few close ups of the process I went through with the "Begin" experiment. Try not to LOL.

The masking liquid bubbled; did not apply as stated on packaging and requires rubbing to remove, which can smudge the painted surface.

The masking tape bled through and damaged the high-quality watercolor paper when removed.

LESSON: There are no shortcuts.  But, to reiterate, it was very educational.  I learned a lot and this creation is preserved at the beginning of my art journal to remind me to keep learning and keep on creating because it's the process and the joy that matters.

Happy New Year!

I hope you BEGIN your dream today.

Creatively,

Becky
